Developing individual leadership and skills and using these skills to focus on participants’ roles and responsibilities to help develop other people.

Module 2 Materials

Organisational and change leadership 

Aim: To understand how you operate as a future leader within the context of your current organisation and provide you with tools to develop and enhance the overall effectiveness and efficiency of yourself and your organisation.

Module Outcomes – By the end of the programme you will have:

  • Reviewed your personal development as a strategic leader in your organisation
  • Developed an understanding and practice of good change management and team leadership and the connections to performance management
  • Reviewed the role of business case development in project and programme management
  • Identified key change levers to affect productive change in your organisation
  • Developed some practical skills to drive forward modernisation including radical service improvement, lean thinking and stakeholder management.
  • Applied these lessons to your improvement projects
  • Planned your time before the next module

Module 3 Materials

Partnership and community leadership

Aim: To enable participants to create and deliver effective public services and solutions for local communities through an understanding of what makes for effective leadership – of place, communities, partnerships and organisations.

Module Outcomes – By the end of the two days participants will have:

  • Developed an understanding and practice of putting in place and maintaining the conditions necessary for effective local partnerships
  • Developed an understanding of political awareness and the skills to effect this
  • Tried out some personal leadership and influencing strategies in a group simulation
  • Worked with a variety of techniques and tools to effectively engage with stakeholders and communities to co –create public service solutions
  • Applied these lessons to work based improvement projects
  • Reviewed the learning through the Future Leadership programme of personal styles and preferences and the application of these in different leadership contexts
  • Reviewed personal learning objectives and their personal development as future leaders and agreed next steps for personal future leadership
